Velcade, Round 6, shot #3.

Done!! 6 months of Velcade. 3 weeks on one week off.

I get labs Friday and then see Dr. L next week. Where it goes, who knows.

Tonight I have leftover vegetarian chili and IP polenta.

Tomorrow is Dex Thursday and I don’t walk. I’ll tidy the house and continue to do this next layer of decluttering. This round is sponsored by Ann Patchett whose New Yorker article really hit home. I’m getting rid of all my Fiesta Ware except the red. I like the red and we use it at Christmas and Valentines day. I plan on giving it all to Cancer Thrift Store not Goodwill. I just feel better giving it to them as the money stays local. Anyway, it’s a lot. The other thing is all my kids Waldorf toys( ok, not all of them:), but quite a bit. If they don’t sell on our local facebook they will go too. We have the Live oak Waldorf school here in Applegate( about 3 miles away). So far no one is interested. It’s interesting to go to another level when I’ve decluttered so much and so much was valuable. navajo rugs, vintage fans, dishes, books etc, antique silver( yes, silver).

But this is what I want:

I want our small home to be a true reflection of minimalism and where we are at this point in our life. Even though what I’m getting rid of was only on 3 different shelves, that’s 3 too many. I’m not interested in making a buck off Fiesta Ware. So what?? It’s nice but that’s it.

What about you??? Are you deciding who you are in your life right now?? And what you have reflects that.!!!

Simple Sunday

It’s a little cooler at 93 degrees. I’m still running the window coolers so I can only imagine how high the electric bill will be especially since there’s an excessive heat warning for the middle of the week.

I went to the gym and it was nice and mostly empty.

This week is my 2-month labs. I know my oncologist is in Europe for 2 weeks so he won’t get my labs back to me so I’ll need to call his nurse for the results or wait.  I don’t have any particular sense which way it will go. They have been creeping up so I guess there’s that. I’m not sure one ever gets over the anxiety of labs once you’ve had cancer.  You wait for them with bated breath.  But in the end, there’s not much you can do but accept what the results are. I feel pretty good so there’s that.

My son fixed the AC in my old van so it’s blowing cold again. He didn’t fill the thing all the way with the R 124?? so I’ll buy another can of that tomorrow.

I’ve prepped a big salad for dinner and I’m going to grill some salmon.  I might add in a carb but not sure what yet. This week with B gone to Minnesota, I’ll keep the menus easy especially since my daughter doesn’t get home till 7.  Maybe sandwiches, tacos, pancakes?? We’ll see. Nothing too heavy as it’s too hot to eat heavy foods.

I gave away 2 sets of Fiesta ware to my brother, so that’s more out the door. I gave him the peacock blue color and the dark blue. I wasn’t in love with either color although the dark blue is pretty.  I still have plenty of other colors to use. I was going to give them to the Cancerthrift but then realized I had given him 2 sets a few years ago so this would make 4.

This week I might do a little more reorganizing the pantry.  I was thinking of taking everything off the stainless steel restaurant shelves and reorganize that way. We’ll see.

This week is the bedroom zone in Flylady, so I’ll work on tidying the closet. Plus it does hold my pantry back up items.

Overall, it should be a quiet week except hot!!!

Kitchen reorganizing

ImageWell,I have been busy on a rearranging and decluttering  day. I decided to move all our white dishes over to these built in shelves. (That’s not all the dishes, half were in the dishwasher). Then I moved my vintage Neddles and Pine dishes into the Heywood Wakefield . That’s only half of them. That’s not a good picture nut you get the idea. Then I moved the fiesta ware( only half to the front room bookcase . So then that allowed me to move a whole bookcase from the kitchen . Then I had my husband remove the door. This actualily was the front door , but since we added the front entry porch, we never use this any more. Then I had him take down the mop hooks. So here’s how it looks……imagenot sure why I can’t write in between the pictures  then I went to Home Depot and got theses shelf things, so you maximize the shelf. Pretty cool., and I opened up a whole wall. I’m going to put a different picture there .or over the tea pots. I’ve also listed an armoire on Craig’s list. Hope it sells. And I’ve decided to sell or give away the Franciscan ware. I probably might keep the teapot. But well see. ImageImageImage
