We left Santa Barbara and headed up to Monterey Bay. It was 4 hours driving and that was plenty. We had breakfast at our favorite place ‘Renaud’s’. If you are in Santa Barbara their almond croissants are famous. Monterey was nice though not as warm as SB. We were staying at the Hilton Garden. The room was a suite and it was nice till we tried to go to go bed and we both kept hearing all night a drip that must have been in the wall. Anyway, in the morning we complained and they compted us breakfast which was nice. We only walked 1.25 in the morning. But 2 days in a row in SB, I had over 10,000 steps. that was great.
We made it home from Monterey in @ 3 1/2 hours. Not too bad.
Now for the AMAZING LAB RESULTS.
I had been anxiously waiting to get these from my doctor. …. My kappa light chains are in the NORMAL RANGE, my lambda light chains are in the NORMAL RANGE, A and my m protein went from .5 to .2
I am so amazed that after 8 Velcade shots this is my results. I start next week on cycle 3.
Wow, is all I can say!! Oh, champagne tonight I think!!
So happy for you! I read Tom Brokaw’s book recently. Isn’t Velcade the same thing that worked so well for him?
Sounds like a lovely trip. I have never been to California. Monterey sounds like a nice place. Maybe I will get there someday.
Hi Marilyn,
Yes, Tom Brokaw would have had Revlimid, Velcade and Dex. I don’t think he had a Stem Cell Transplant. When I was diagnosed Revlimid wasn’t yet available. I also didn’t have Velcade and that’s why using it now is effective. I am very happy with the results. It does mean driving into Sacramento but I’m kinda liking being able to go do something afterwards. So far, I haven’t had any serious side effects but some bruising in the belly where they do the shot…
That is fabulous news. Enjoy the champagne!
thanks, it is very exciting, that maybe with my next cycle, I’ll be in remission. I don’t want to get too hopeful, but I am:)
