A mostly frugal week.
Both my daughter and I went to Costco. Hers was pretty much all non-food, and mine was mostly all food. It will probably put me over my $400 budget, but once again, a lot of what I buy is for LTFood.
It’s ok, as I’m sure we’ll use it up.
I did stop and get gas at Costco yesterday, and it was $4.95 a gallon, so it went down a bit.
I was going to drive down today, but figured I would wait and conserve my gas a bit. There’s always next week to go down to the pool and the gym. I had a book on hold come in so I want to get that.
No other bills are due right now. In May, I have Rubi’s insurance and DMV. I suppose I should have been a little more on top of it, as I wasn’t sure when the insurance was due, and then I checked.
Today, I have just been pottering around. I cleaned under the sink and organized it. I am also working to get my sourdough starter stronger, so I fed it this morning to use tomorrow or later if it doubles in size.
Other than that a nice, slow day.
When I hear about the price of gas in California I am thankful it’s much cheaper in my area. This morning my fill up was a dollar a gallon less than yours.
Yes, California has lots of environmental add-ons to gas that are taxed. I’m ok with that if it helps the environment. I remember LA, where the pollution was so bad that all you could see was smog. So I’m ok paying the higher cost.
It’s a blessing to be able to bend to clean under a sink. You’re taking good care of yourself.
Vehicle insurance and licensing takes a bite out of any budget. I’m curious if you have thought further about downsizing Rubi or your number of vehicles?
It’s an annual expense, but it does creep up on me. Right now, we have the truck( which my son is using, basically taken over), and the Santa Fe, which is my primary car. Both are 2014, so I am a little nervous that I’ll need to get something in the future and that will be expensive. The VW is in my daughter’s name, but I do pay the DMV and insurance. I think we will donate this when we’re ready to. I’m thinking sometime this fall.
Yes, Rubi will go after I finish paying off the loan. I have a little left on it, so I want to wait till that’s done.
