Simple Sunday and a blogger apology!

First off, I owe an apology to Hawaii planner blogger.  She is an honest blogger who I respect. I was unfair in my comment concerning her kitchen renovation.

I was rude and unnecessarily judgemental about frugalness while being well off.  That was an unfair assessment on my part.   Everyone should try to be careful with their money no matter what their circumstances.  We can all learn from one another and should be open-minded about other people’s circumstances.

Overall, we had a nice week.

Quite hot and it will continue to be so for a while. At least it cools off at night so the coolers are turned off by 8pm. I’m expecting our PGE bill to be high.

I went to Safeway as I mentioned and it wasn’t too busy at all. Some people were still not wearing masks but most were.  I’ll probably not go back to Safeway but if I need something over to Bel Air as they are requiring face covers.  I didn’t really get any prepper stuff just regular groceries.  I don’t need anything this week but 1/2 for coffee which we go thru a lot of with 4 of us drinking coffee with cream.

We’ve been watching some fun old movies like Caddyshack.  Another favorite this time of year is What about Bob!!!

  1. you have inspired us to stock up – not that we expect food to run out, but the tedium of queueing at the Aldi’s and the lack of distancing make us reluctant to go. The freezer is packed with sprouts, broad beans, green beans, spinach and Sheila now has 6 cases of dried apricots in the shed. Nice to keep things regular!

Look after yourselves and well done for the gentle apology!

  2. Thanks for this. As I noted on my own blog, it takes a lot of courage & introspection to admit when you’ve made a mistake. That’s all too lacking these days in the world, and it meant a lot to me that you took the time to do that. I appreciate it very much.

I’d forgotten about both of those movies, but my kids are of the age that I think they would enjoy both!

Have a great rest of your weekend. 🙂

      • Good reminder – it’s been awhile since I’ve seen that movie & don’t remember any sex scenes. I’ve apparently blocked them out.

  3. He have hit the point in my area where grocery stores have gone to masks required even though there isn’t a mask requirement in that town or village. I’m glad because I worry about the grocery workers!

    • Yes, I honestly am at a loss for those not wearing masks. We have to follow speed limits, wear seat belts, etc. so what’s the big deal except most of them are Trumpsters.

  4. Similar to what I just posted to HP – this is the way in which mistakes should be rectified, and you both have set a terrific example to us all. We are human, we blow it on occasion, but if we can make amends and move on, we are all the wiser going forward. As Maya Angelou so beautifully expressed, ‘When we know better, we do better.’

I hope the rest of your week is terrific!

(P.S. – Sorry for duplicate post! I have to use hubby’s email or WordPress won’t post my replies.)

    • Hi Tamara, Glad your visit with the fam went well. Yes, sometimes we do need to re-evaluate some things. I have always like HP so it really was an unnecessary comment.

  6. Here in Colorado we are mandatory masks and we are generally better of than many states but we have big increases. As our governor says daily “Wear a damned mask”. The tempertantrums of those opposed just leaves me with no words). I have not been stocking up although perhaps I should. Im in the, I’m moving in three months or so/I dont live in a hurricaine or blizzard area, what should I do about this phase.
