Home Stuff

It’s Friday and I need to go into town for an eye doctor appt. Then to the  bank and maybe a few other chores. We walked a little later this morning at 6:50. Sunrise is at 7:06 so it’s pretty light when we got  there.

I’m going to catch up on some laundry and then our new refrigerator gets delivered today. The old one is still clunking away. I hope we like  the new one. We’ve never had a bottom freezer so ..

This weekend I’m going to go the nursery and pick up some garlic and potatoes to plant. I think we’re just at the edge of it being too late.

Monterey, Ca

IMG_0209We left Santa Barbara and headed up to Monterey Bay. It was 4 hours driving and that was plenty. We had breakfast at our favorite place ‘Renaud’s’. If you are in Santa Barbara their almond croissants are famous. Monterey was nice though not as warm as SB. We were staying at the Hilton Garden. The room was a suite and it was nice till we tried to go to go bed and we both kept hearing all night a drip that must have been in the wall. Anyway, in the morning we complained and they compted us breakfast which was nice. We only walked 1.25  in the morning. But 2 days in a row in SB, I had over 10,000 steps. that was great.

We made it home from Monterey in @ 3 1/2 hours. Not too bad.

Now for the AMAZING LAB RESULTS.

I had been anxiously waiting to get these from my doctor. …. My kappa light chains are in the NORMAL RANGE, my lambda light chains are in the NORMAL RANGE, A and my m protein went from .5 to .2

I am so amazed that after 8 Velcade shots this is my results. I start next week on cycle 3.

Wow, is all I can say!! Oh, champagne tonight I think!!

Santa Barbara

It was a very very long drive here. We took breaks but 7 and 1/2 hours is hard on the back. It was also raining half way down the valley. It was so great to see things wet and green. ElNino is definitely here in California.

So, it’s been windy but nice. Today is suppose to be less windy and warmer. I walked my first 10,000 steps here. My fit bit buzzed. I can feel it, though.:) We walked the beach trail which is beautiful. Then we walked a lot around town.  Santa Barbara is a very rich area. Homes are in the millions here but the area is so amazing you can see why people want to live here.

We finally got to the taqueria that Julia Child made famous. It’s called Super Rica tacos. It really is kinda a dive but the taco I had was pretty great. Usually, there’re huge lines and wait time. We got in fast and hardly any wait.

We went to the Natural History Museum and enjoyed that.
