Grateful Wednesday

In the midst of America going gun-crazy and kids killing other kids with AR-15s, I am still grateful in my small world for things.

  • We had a safe travel day to and from Tahoe.
  • We had the finances to pay for gas.
  • I’m grateful to my daughter and son for taking care of things like the garden while we were gone. ( mostly my daughter did all that but Zephyr did make dinner 2 nights.)
  • I can get up and go for a walk and feel good.
  • I can swim for 40 minutes non-stop and that’s a good thing too.
  • Although we still have a mortgage, we can afford it whilst on SS.
  • For now, our health continues to be good with no surprises. ( a break for the time being which I am VERY grateful for).
  • A president that has brought dignity back to the office and doesn’t spend all day tweeting and eating McDonald’s.

Simple Sunday

We’re getting a nice rainfall this morning and it is much needed. We walked with our umbrellas as it was just sprinkling then. Now it’s a steady rain. We were the only ones there and YAY for that. I did see the”one who shall not be named” in the park yesterday as I drove by to go swimming. Ugh. I was looking thru my daily book from last JULY and it was insane how many comments I made about his passive-aggressive behavior. I certainly hope it doesn’t come to that again. Oh well, a lovely walk this morning and that’s what counts.

This coming week I have labs on Monday, swim on Tuesday, some sort of grocery shop on Wednesday and that’s it. I’m thinking of a small shop at Costco as they have the best prices for avocados. I could do Winco after swimming but I don’t need anything specific from there whereas Costco would be the avocados, bagels, a bag of coffee, etc.

The Flylady zone is the kitchen so I’ll start that after I finish the post.

I’m working on cleaning out the freezer of some meals and some bread that needs to be used. Tonight is a frozen cheese lasagna and salad.

While camping I was practicing my embroidery stitches and did the feather stitch on one linen napkin. I really like the Chevron stitch too. Today I’ll pull out another linen napkin and try another stitch. It’s fun and somewhat meditative.

A great week

We packed up Rubi and left the campground around 9:15am. Hooking up Rubi and getting ready to travel takes about 45minutes. B has it down now and it’s just a step-by-step process. Then we headed over to Zephyr Cove RV campground to use the dump station. That went well and we were on our way by 9:40am. The trip around the lake and then down I 80 went smooth and traffic was minimal. We pulled in at noon.

Some pictures;

This is one of the meadows near the campground.

Some of the cool granite boulders. This area was the land of the Washoe Indians and where the name ‘Tahoe’comes from.

Some wildflowers.

This is sunrise over in Desolation Wilderness.

Sunrise over the lake.

Today our weather is cloudy and cooler. We may even get some much needed rain.
